1972 Honda CL450K Scrambler Restoration

My uncle found this little gem at Angel Cycle World in York, PA back in October of 2012.  I had been looking for a project bike (something I could turn into a cafe racer), here in Nashville, but wasn't having much luck.  Most of the bikes I found on Craig's List were either out of my price range, junk, or had been modified beyond what I was willing to purchase and deal/work with...

The more I looked around, the more I started falling in love with the CL Scramblers (the sister to Honda's CB series).  I really dig the "high on one side" exhaust/tailpipes.  There is something about the CL's ruggedness that was appealing to me.  Perhaps it is my affinity for the outdoors.  Who knows.  Regardless, I ended up pulling the trigger on this puppy about two weeks before Christmas.  Now the question was, "how can I get my hands on this baby and start wrenching?!"  Questions and prayers answered, my adventurous mother and stepfather offered to throw it on my uncle's motorcycle trailer and drive it down from PA the following weekend (love those crazy kids).

Here are some pics that my stepfather took of the bike before I bought it:
